Building Community

BldgC is a community resource for Pasadena, CA. We believe that community is built from within, through direct connections and shared experiences.

Our Mission

Our mission is to increase the connectivity between individuals and institutions in Pasadena. By acknowledging the diverse experiences we have as community members, we see a chance to tap into the wealth of resources we have here — beyond a transaction or affiliation — getting to know each other through the content of our character for the purpose of strengthening our community.

Our Projects

We make things as we see a need for them. Newspapers, information cards, surveys, events — take a look at some of them and maybe you’ll learn something new, as we did!

Issue 2 of our Magazine looks at how family is interpreted through the lens of community.

This premiere Issue of our Magazine is meant to introduce the sub-communities of Pasadena to one another through community-relevant content.

Tea Around Town was born from seeing that the #1 priority in the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) for 2019 was improving the quality of life for Pasadena seniors.

Multi-generational teas bridge new connections. If these connections last longer than an hour, we will be thrilled.

Senior Survey

Data informs our actions. As a community, we should be looking for gaps in data create gaps in understanding. An area we feel passionately about is in senior care. This survey is to create more “soft data” around the socialization for seniors to better understand opportunities for community engagement.

Please feel free to take it yourself if you are over 55+ or send it along to someone you know. This is a crowdsourced, open-ended effort. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NN8FQWJ
